Dear “Eventeur”
If you would like to be quoted in my next book, please let me have some information about your events.
The international textbook is called “ Events Feasibility and Development: from strategy to operations”
The aim is to show event companies, event students and large organisations such as tourism bodies, corporations and government departments – how to develop an events program.
I expect it will have a wide influence on event policy of corporations and governments – so it will eventually affect us all.
It includes;
• Developing an event strategy for corporations , governments, government departments and regional authorities
• Deciding on and supporting the events that will work
• Understanding the unique aspects of the event industry and what makes a event company competent in their work.
Over all the aim is to improve our profession by making sure that quality in decisions is improved.
If you would like to be interviewed by me (by email), already have a story or a case study - let me know. I hope to finish this by the end of January 2008.
The side bar shows an outline of the text.
It is divided into three sections: Strategy, Management and Operations.
Some questions
What is important when considering if an event is feasible? What is an example of this?
What examples of major change/s that have occurred in the lead up to an event?
What is an example of a wrong predication for an event and how was it fixed?
What is an example of a business case for an event and did it work? If not, what happened?
What is an example of cash flow predicting you had to do?
How did you establish the objectives of the event? How did you measure the success or otherwise?
What is your company’s event strategy/policies? What are your company’s objectives in having events?
OR make up your own questions.
I look forward to hearing your experience and case studies in this area.
Needless to say, your interview/case study will need to be approved by the publishers to be included.
Have a great 2008 - year of the event!
